"Dutch energy supplier Budget Thuis is having Ore Energy build a 1 GWh grid storage facility in the Netherlands. The first phase of 400 MWh is scheduled for completion in 2028. Ore Energy uses iron-air batteries that can store electricity for 24 to 100 hours. These are cheaper than lithium-ion batteries but less efficient. The goal is to store wind power for multiple days and replace gas-fired power plants."
