"On 16 July 2026, UK Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis and Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur signed an agreement to replace the British armoured battlegroup in Estonia with a 1,200-strong Mobile Anti-Armour Force (MAAF). The new force, equipped with highly mobile vehicles, advanced drones, and the ASGARD digital system, will have greater mobility, dispersion, and lethality, including deep-strike capabilities via upgraded M270 MLRS. The change is based on lessons from the Ukraine war and exercise Hedgehog 25. Estonia, which has not purchased tanks, has focused on artillery and building a defensive line."
