"A Russian drone struck a residential building in Galați, Romania, on May 29, 2026, causing a fire and minor injuries to two people. European Commission President von der Leyen, European Council President Costa, and EU foreign policy chief Kallas condemned the incursion as a violation of EU territory. NATO also condemned it. Romanian Prime Minister Bolojan announced the signing of an anti-drone equipment contract under the EU's SAFE program."
