"German grid operator 50Hertz has awarded a contract for a 2 GW offshore converter platform to a consortium of Siemens Energy and Neptun Smulders. The platform will be built partly at the Neptun Werft in Rostock, Germany, and is the first of its new standard to be predominantly constructed in Germany. It will be installed about 200 km west of Sylt as part of the North Sea Connector 2 project. A second contract for a similar converter is being negotiated."
