"The steel lattice structure of the world's tallest wind turbine has been completed in Schipkau, Brandenburg, Germany. The tower will reach a total height of 360 meters with a hub height of 300 meters. Construction began in July 2025 but was delayed by quality issues with subcontractor steel parts. The defects were resolved by March 2026. The turbine gondola will be raised to 150 meters initially, then to 300 meters using a telescopic mechanism. The turbine is expected to generate 30-33 GWh annually, enough for 7,500 households, with a cost of 5 euro cents per kWh. Grid connection is planned by end of 2026."
