"A heat wave across Europe shattered temperature records on June 27, 2026, with Denmark recording 37°C in Ødum (hottest since 1874), Switzerland 38.8°C in Basel, and the Czech Republic 40.6°C in Doksany. The heat wave caused infrastructure damage in Germany, overwhelmed hospitals in France, and prompted event cancellations.
