- European Parliament votes to support EU Commission's optional corporate framework (EU Inc.)
- Plan includes online registration for €100, no minimum capital, standardised tax procedures
- MEPs warn of social dumping and regulatory race to bottom similar to Delaware
"The European Parliament on 9 July 2026 voted to support the European Commission's proposal for an optional EU-wide corporate framework, known as 'EU Inc.' or the '28th regime'. The plan would allow online company registration for €100 with no minimum capital, standardised tax returns, and a consolidated corporate tax base. MEPs, including rapporteur René Repasi, warned that the regime could lead to social dumping and regulatory competition similar to the US state of Delaware. The Irish EU presidency may benefit. Liberal MEP Ludovít Ódor stressed the need for scale, while left-wing MEPs demand worker protections."
