0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • Dutch government bans Solvinity acquisition by Kyndryl.
  • Solvinity operates the national DigiD identity app.
  • Ban based on BTI review under telecommunications law.

"The Dutch government has prohibited the acquisition of IT service provider Solvinity by US-based Kyndryl. Solvinity operates core parts of the national digital identity platform DigiD. The decision followed a review by the Bureau Toetsing Investeringen (BTI) under telecoms law. State Secretary Willemijn Aerdts informed parliament in a letter. Kyndryl criticized the move as politicized. The European Commission is expected to present a tech sovereignty package in early June."
