"General Klaus Naumann (born 1939) served as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee from 1996 to 1999. He joined the Bundeswehr in 1958, held various command positions including battery commander, brigade commander, and finally Chief of Staff of the Federal Armed Forces (1991-1996). He also served in the German Ministry of Defence and at NATO in Brussels. Naumann authored the book 'The Bundeswehr in a World in Transition' and received numerous military decorations."
