"Italy launched the 'Stati Generali dello Spazio' (Space General Assembly) on June 9, 2026, a nationwide initiative to promote its aerospace sector. The government frames space as strategic for competitiveness, technological sovereignty, and security. Sector revenues grew from €1.9B to €3.1B (2021–2024), employment from 5,900 to 8,900. The government allocated €7.8B through 2028, including €3.5B to ESA, €2.3B to ASI, and €2B from the recovery plan. Four Space Factory facilities are being established."
