"Thales has been awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin Canada to equip the new Canadian 'Fleuves et rivières' class destroyers with the S2087 towed sonar, part of the CAPTAS family. The sonar is designed for long-range detection of quiet submarines. The first three of 15 planned vessels are under construction, with expected service entry between 2032 and 2036. Thales will establish local partnerships for sustainment under Canadian sovereign control."
