"On 22 May 2026, the Slovenian parliament confirmed Janez Janša as prime minister for the fourth time. His minority coalition controls 43 of 90 seats and is expected to be sworn in mid-June. The government plans pro-market economic reforms, tax cuts, and tighter controls on civil society. Foreign policy is expected to shift toward Israel while maintaining support for Ukraine. Defence spending may increase toward NATO's 5% GDP target."
