NATO Appoints Turkish General as Director of Cooperative Security Division (nato.int)

• MGen ÜNGÜDER assumed the Director role in August 2025 after serving as Deputy Director since August 2023.
• He chaired the MCWG (COOP) and supported cooperation activities with NATO bodies.
• He has lectured at NATO Defense College and taught at NATO School Oberammergau.

"MGen ÜNGÜDER, a Turkish general with extensive multinational experience, has been appointed Director of the Cooperative Security Division at NATO. He previously served as Deputy Director since 2023 and has worked on cooperative security policies, partnerships, and strategic communication, particularly with NATO's Southern Neighborhood. His background includes roles in Afghanistan, EUFOR, and the U.S. military, along with advanced education from U.S. institutions."
