"Following the failure of mediation between Dassault Aviation and Airbus over the SCAF program, Airbus Defence & Space is now pursuing collaboration with Saab. Airbus CEO Michael Schoellhorn confirmed to Dagens Industri that discussions with the German and Swedish governments are ongoing and productive. Saab had earlier been contracted by the Swedish FMV for next-generation fighter studies. Schoellhorn stressed urgency, warning that without progress, Europe may end up buying US-made fighters."
