France and Germany to announce cancellation of joint fighter jet project SCAF (legrandcontinent.eu)

"France and Germany are expected to announce the end of the SCAF (Système de combat aérien du futur) program at the Berlin Air Show (ILA) on June 10-14, 2026. The project, launched in 2017, was stalled by industrial disputes between Dassault Aviation and Airbus. Germany is considering joining the UK-Japan-Italy GCAP program. The joint tank project MGCS is also in crisis, with service entry delayed to 2040-2045."
