"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Slovakia from 14 to 16 June 2026, the first such visit since Slovakia's independence in 1993. He received the highest state honors, including the Order of the White Double Cross. Bilateral relations were elevated to a Comprehensive Partnership, the second such agreement in the region after Poland. Several agreements were signed, including a Letter of Intent on Defence Cooperation, MoUs on Digital Technologies, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Post-Quantum Cryptography, Higher Education, and Labour Migration. Modi invited Slovak PM Robert Fico for a return visit. India aims to deepen engagement in Central Europe."
