"In a speech on April 3, 2026, Dimitar Radev, Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, assessed Bulgaria's economic outlook. Starting from a position of strength with 3.2% growth in 2025, Bulgaria now faces an external energy price shock from the Middle East conflict. The baseline forecast for 2026 is moderate growth of about 3% and inflation around 3.7%, with adverse and severe scenarios considered. Radev emphasized the need for fiscal discipline, targeted support, improved business environment, and productivity gains. He highlighted euro area accession as a strategic anchor for credibility and stability."
