"The number of reported IT security incidents in the state administration of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year. Of 30 incidents, 16 were phishing, 2 were DDoS attacks, 2 were system intrusions, and 9 involved hardware theft or loss. The state criminal police also reported a rise in cybercrime, especially online purchase fraud and ransomware on businesses."
