"Alibaba's research institute Damo Academy has optimized Android 16 (AOSP) for RISC-V processors of the XuanTie-9 series with the RVA23 instruction set profile. The platform is fully compatible with Android specifications such as AVB, GKI, GSI, and VINTF. The developers consider this a milestone for commercial use of RISC-V in end devices, especially in the Chinese market, to reduce dependence on Western chipmakers."
