"US startup Lyten is acquiring the insolvent Northvolt site in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, for around €60 million. Plans include a battery cell factory, battery storage, and a data center, with about 1,000 jobs instead of the originally planned 3,000. The acquisition has not been officially confirmed; the state government will discuss it next week. The federal and state governments had guaranteed a KfW convertible bond of €600 million; the deal recovers €153 million, leaving Schleswig-Holstein with a financial loss of over €200 million."
