"The European Court of Justice (CJEU) is expected to deliver its ruling on July 2, 2026, in the long-running dispute between Google and the European Commission. The case concerns a €4.34 billion antitrust fine imposed in 2018 for alleged illegal restrictions on Android smartphone manufacturers to boost Google's search dominance. The General Court upheld the fine in 2022, reducing it slightly to €4.125 billion. Google and its parent company Alphabet appealed to the CJEU. A separate Swedish court ordered Google to pay approximately €1.3 billion in damages to Klarna subsidiary Pricerunner on July 1, 2026."
