"The European Commission approved funding for the first two Regional Cable Hubs: one in the Baltic Sea led by Finland, and one in the Mediterranean led by Italy. Italy will receive €3.3 million for the hub, which will develop shared operational procedures and a federated platform for near real-time information sharing. This is part of the EU's cable security action plan from 2025, which also includes €40 million for repair capabilities."
