"The UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is consulting on amendments to the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 to permit the safe use of plug-in solar (microgeneration) devices without batteries, connected directly to a mains socket. An interim product specification is proposed for the transition period while permanent standards are developed. Consultation closes 30 June 2026."
