"The Canadian government is negotiating with Swedish defense contractor Saab to buy six GlobalEye airborne early warning aircraft valued at CAD 5 billion. Under the deal, roughly one-third of 40 NATO aircraft orders would be assembled in Canada, sustaining 3,000 aerospace and defense jobs for 15 years. Bombardier is Saab's partner, providing the Global 6500 business jet as the platform. France has already finalized a contract for two GlobalEye aircraft for CAD 1.3 billion. The negotiations challenge Boeing's long-standing dominance in the NATO radar aircraft market."
