"Singapore is constructing the Tuas mega-port, a fully automated container terminal designed to surpass Shanghai as the world's busiest port. Spanning 1,337 hectares with 66 berths and a capacity of 65 million TEUs annually, the project costs approximately $14 billion. Automation includes over 200 AGVs, private 5G networks, AI-driven traffic management, and a central control center. Phase 1 is partially operational; full completion is expected in the 2040s. By 2027, all existing Singapore terminals will migrate to Tuas. The port aims for net-zero emissions by 2050."
