"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has confirmed that Serbia will acquire the Chinese HQ-9 long-range surface-to-air missile system (export designation FD-2000). This adds to existing Chinese systems FK-3 and HQ-17. Serbia also completed upgrades of its MiG-29 fleet to SM+ standard with Russian and Chinese armaments. The purchase enhances Serbia's A2/AD capabilities in the Balkans, despite a separate 2023 deal for 12 French Rafale F3 fighters."
