"Spain's Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 has opened sanction proceedings against prediction platforms Polymarket and Kalshi for allegedly operating without the required administrative authorization. The platforms allow bets on uncertain future outcomes, considered gambling under Spanish law. As a precautionary measure, the ministry ordered the blocking of their websites in Spain. The proceedings are estimated to take three to four months."
