"As of June 2026, no maneuvering boost-glide hypersonic vehicle (HGV) has ever been intercepted in combat. All reported 'hypersonic intercepts' involved different weapon classes. The dedicated Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) is not expected until 2029, and critical space-based sensors (HBTSS, SDA Tracking Layer) face delays or failures.
