"A Black Kite report reveals a 55.1% year-over-year increase in ransomware attacks in Europe during the first four months of 2026, averaging 171 incidents per month. Five countries (Germany, UK, France, Italy, Spain) account for 70% of incidents. Qilin is the most common variant, with 372 recorded cases. Manufacturing is the most targeted sector (28%). Supply chain attacks are rising, including over 30 incidents traced to the compromise of Swedish software vendor Miljödata."
