  • 150 sensors installed on Ruhrtal Bridge
  • AI analyzes 100,000 measurements per second
  • Pilot project accelerated for wider rollout

"Germany's Autobahn GmbH is equipping the Ruhrtal Bridge (A52) with around 150 sensors producing 100,000 measurements per second. An AI system analyzes the data in real time to detect damage early and avoid unplanned closures. The pilot project, developed by startup Irmos, was originally planned for five years on 11 bridges but is being accelerated due to positive initial results. 55% of Germany's highway bridges were built before 1985 and no longer meet current standards."
