France selects Thundart as domestic successor to M270 MLRS (defence24.com)

• France selects MBDA-Safran Thundart to replace M270 MLRS.
• Thundart: 150 km range, supersonic speed, all-European components.
• First deliveries in 2029; LRU retirement by end of 2027.

"France has chosen the MBDA-Safran consortium's Thundart system to replace the American M270 MLRS (LRU variant), rejecting foreign alternatives. The decision was announced by Minister Catherine Vautrin at Eurosatory. The FLP-t programme plans 13-26 launchers and at least 300 guided rockets. First deliveries are expected in 2029, about a year after the LRU retirement at end of 2027."
