"General Dimitrios Choupis, born in 1965, has been Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff since January 2024. A graduate of the Evelpidon Military Academy, he served in NATO missions including Afghanistan. Choupis holds a PhD in Information Dissemination Systems from NTUA and master's degrees in Strategy and Crisis Management. He is fluent in English and French and is an active parachutist."
