Apple excludes EU iPhones from iOS 27 AI Siri due to DMA compliance conflict (heise.de)
0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
- Siri AI absent from EU iOS 27/iPadOS 27; available on other Apple platforms.
- Apple blames DMA; EU rejected its Trusted System Agent proposal.
- Mac, Watch, Vision Pro get Siri AI in EU.
"Apple announced that the new AI-powered Siri will not be available on iPhones and iPads in the EU when iOS 27 launches in autumn 2026. The company blames the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which requires Apple to allow third-party digital assistants system-level access. Apple's proposed 'Trusted System Agent' was rejected by the European Commission. Macs, Apple Watches, and Vision Pro will still get the feature in the EU. This is a repeat of the delayed Apple Intelligence rollout from 2024."
