Frontier AI Access: From Promised Abundance to Imposed Scarcity (legrandcontinent.eu)

· 67d ago · Report · Spotlight this ·
0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • Security restrictions (Mythos, Daybreak) prevent broad deployment.
  • High marginal compute costs make access a zero-sum game.
  • U.S. government will increasingly control access for strategic purposes.

"This article argues that access to frontier AI models will not be widely available but will be restricted by security concerns, high compute costs, and U.S. government control. Examples such as Anthropic's Mythos and OpenAI's Daybreak show that even cybersecurity models are limited to a small circle of U.S.-based companies. The narrative of AI as a universally abundant resource is challenged. For actors outside the U.S., especially in Europe, access to cutting-edge AI is becoming increasingly difficult."
