"The European Investment Bank will formally launch EastInvest, a €28 billion lending program to strengthen the EU's eastern frontier by 2027. EIB President Nadia Calviño will unveil the initiative alongside prime ministers of Latvia, Estonia, Romania and Lithuania. The program covers nine member states from Finland to Bulgaria, addressing geopolitical instability and a 2.6% population decline since 2016. The launch comes as Hungary blocked a separate €90 billion loan to Ukraine."
