"Spain is starting the migration of its Digital Terrestrial Television (TDT) to the DVB-T2 standard, triggered by the award of a new TV channel to SIETE. Phase one migrates the RGE2 multiplex shared by RTVE, Atresmedia, and Mediaset, enabling UHD broadcasts. Phase two, requiring all receivers to be DVB-T2 compatible, will not start until 95% of devices meet the standard. Currently, only 36.6% of TVs are 4K-ready. Full fleet renewal is not expected until after 2030."
