0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • Swiss Cyber Command to complete OpenDesk migration by October 2026.
  • Driven by Microsoft's cloud mandate and US jurisdiction over data.
  • Army operates own infrastructure and contributes open-source code.

"The Swiss Army's Cyber Command is leaving Microsoft 365 due to forced cloud migration and geopolitical risks. By October 2026, all cyber specialists will switch to the open-source suite OpenDesk, developed by the German Center for Digital Sovereignty (Zendis). The move comes after Microsoft changed its policy to require cloud-only operation, exposing sensitive military data to US laws like the CLOUD Act."
