German states commit to mandatory adoption of Deutschland-Stack basic components (heise.de)

"All 16 German states have agreed to mandate the adoption of basic components of the Deutschland-Stack, a federal digital administration platform. The commitment covers digital identity (eID/EUDI Wallet), the National Once Only Technical System (NOOTS), and the data transport infrastructure FIT-Connect. The federal government will cover most costs. Payment and communication components are still under development. The decision was announced by the IT Planning Council on June 18, 2026."
