"Willem Baron van de Voorde, a veteran Belgian diplomat, has been appointed as Belgium's Permanent Representative to NATO, effective February 2026. With a career spanning over three decades, he previously served as Permanent Representative to the EU, chaired Coreper II during the 2024 Belgian EU Presidency, and was Special Envoy for Climate. He studied philosophy and law at universities in Brussels, Leuven, and London."
