"NATO maintains partnerships with 35 non-member countries and international organizations to enhance security beyond its borders. Partnerships are organized into regional frameworks: Partnership for Peace (PfP), Mediterranean Dialogue (MD), Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), and global partners. Cooperation includes consultation, interoperability, defence reform, and capacity building. Key tools include the Partnership Interoperability Initiative and the Defence and Related Security Capacity Building Initiative. NATO's partnership policy was reformed in 2011 and updated in subsequent summits."
