"Battery electric vehicles captured 19.7% of new car registrations in the EU during January-April 2026, up from 15.3% a year earlier. Combined petrol and diesel share fell to 30.2%. BEV registrations surged 73.1% in Italy, 48.2% in France, and 41.3% in Germany. The ACEA warns that trade conflicts and subsidy uncertainty could threaten further growth."
