"Sweden is facilitating Ukraine's procurement of up to 20 new Gripen E/F fighter jets, financed by the EU's Ukraine Support Loan of approximately €2.5 billion. Simultaneously, Stockholm is preparing the transfer of up to 30 older Gripen C/D aircraft as bilateral aid. This combines military support with industrial policy: strengthening Saab, modernizing Ukraine's air force, and building long-term market presence. Ukraine is also negotiating with France for 150 Rafale jets, creating logistical challenges."
