"Nissan, in partnership with Enel (via Endesa) and Loccioni, has installed a stationary energy storage system in Melilla, Spain, using 78 Nissan LEAF batteries (48 used, 30 new). The system provides 4 MW power and 1.7 MWh capacity. If the city's sole thermal power plant fails, it can supply electricity for 15 minutes, allowing time to restart the plant and avoid a prolonged blackout. Batteries are reused without disassembly."
