"The Portuguese development bank Banco de Fomento (BPF) will receive a capital increase of 1.5 billion euros by 2030, approved by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The European Commission extended its mandate to December 2032. In 2025, the bank supported 16,000 companies with over 6.5 billion euros in financing. The capital increase will be staggered: 100 million in mid-2026, 50 million at end-2026, then 450 million each in 2027, 2028, and 2029. CEO Gonçalo Regalado highlighted structural projects including the Hospital de Lisboa Oriental, high-speed rail, two data centers, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix."
