"NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) is a non-combat advisory and capacity-building mission launched in 2018 at Iraq's request. It aims to help Iraq build sustainable security forces to prevent the return of ISIS/Daesh. The mission expanded to include the Ministry of Interior and Federal Police in 2023. In March 2026, due to regional security, NMI relocated its personnel from Baghdad to Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Italy, continuing operations from there."
