"NASA's Psyche spacecraft performed a Mars flyby on May 20, 2026, using the planet's gravity to boost its speed and adjust its trajectory toward the metal-rich asteroid Psyche. The spacecraft is still over three years away from its target in the main asteroid belt. The flyby also provided an opportunity for scientific observations of Mars. Launched in 2023, Psyche is expected to reach the asteroid in 2029."
