ING launches Wero payments in online shops (heise.de)

• ING customers can now use Wero for online purchases; previously limited to P2P.
• EPI partners with five national mobile payment systems for cross-border interoperability.
• Goal: connect 135 million users and reduce dependence on US payment providers.

"ING has enabled Wero payments for e-commerce, allowing customers to pay in online shops via the Wero or banking app. The European Payments Initiative also announced a joint venture with national mobile payment systems from Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Scandinavia to create an interoperable European payment network."
