"New polling by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) reveals that ten years after the 2016 referendum, a clear majority of British voters view Brexit as damaging and strongly favor a closer relationship with the EU, including potential rejoining. 75% want closer ties, while only 8% seek more distance. On key issues, 63% would accept freedom of movement for EU citizens in exchange for closer trade relations, and a majority supports a European army and a joint nuclear deterrent. Trust in the US has collapsed: only 18% see America as an ally, while majorities view EU member states as allies. The polling also identifies three new voter segments—Optimists (28%), Realists (35%), and Loners (27%)—replacing the old Leave-Remain divide. Within the EU, 66% of citizens would back UK membership."
